It is quite possible to produce usable antibodies within a short time frame, and when the peptide is designed and produced by us, we guarantee reactivity of the immune serum with the peptide. As with any antibody project there is no telling beforehand how well the antibody will work in your application, if at all. It may be that all that is required is more time for the antibodies to mature.
What can and should be done is to create the best conditions for the successful outcome of the project. However, when the time-frame is minimal, you will invariably face the choice between doing things right and doing things fast. It is knowing when it is ok to cut corners that will make all the difference.
If you don't have the antigen readily available, then you could raise your antibody using a synthetic peptide conjugated to a carrier molecule as the immunogen. Proper peptide design work and the use of high quality reagents and a robust synthesis protocol will allow for a rushed peptide production, which shields your project from serious delays while ensuring that quality is maintained.
Accelerated immunisation protocols may be called for in special cases. However, the vast majority of custom antibody projects are not special in that respect, but rather the opposite. Instead of accelerating the booster intervals one should apply a standard protocol that is tested and proven for thousands of projects, and make adaptations so that earlier bleeds are accommodated. You will hedge your bets, so to speak. If it works, you will have antibodies really soon. If it doesn't work at first, then it is possible to use later bleeds which have a better chance of containing your required antibody.
